love is all you need...

I love my mum so much. I know it's a cliché and soppy thing to say but she really is amazing. Ever since my dad passed away in the summer of 2011, she has deserved all the extra loving she can get and it was really lovely for my sister, bro and I (OK, mainly my bro and sister because they are the ones with the money) to be able to spoil her for her birthday this weekend.

Last night (Saturday) we went out for a meal and invited relatives and close friends of the family, which she was really not excepting, and that's where the above photo comes in. All items are handmade. The headband was inspired by Culietta's spike number over at My Flash Trash and the bracelet you may have seen here. As for the necklace...that was crafted up during my half term the other week, made whilst watching Rafael Nadal win the Brazil Open and whilst dreamily delighting in Mumford and Sons at the Brit Awards.
Below is a photo of my mummy when the super huge chocolate cake was brought out for her. Please ignore the bags underneath the eyes- I swear it's the lighting that's made them bigger than they are.

I haven't done this in a while so here's what's on the playlist at the moment:  Josh Groban Happy In My Heartache; Tom Odell Can't Pretend ; Palma Violets Best of Friends
