Every Tuesday evening, after watching the Great British Bake Off, I get that compulsion to bake (ok, eat) whatever it is they've been producing on the show and this week, because it's so simplistic, I went ahead and made some crackers. I chose poppy and sesame seeds for my flavouring and had them for lunch the next day with cheese and tomato and a sprinkle of oregano. If you're interested in doing same, then here's what to do...
Ingredients: 125g plain flour, 1tsp baking powder, 1 and a half tsp sea salt, 2 tbsp poppy seeds, 2 tbsp sesame seeds, 1tbsp black pepper 30g unsalted butter.
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees,
- combine the flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl and stir in the seeds and pepper. Then rub in the butter until it resembles fine breadcrumbs.
- Mix in a bit of water, enough to make a dough-like mixture and then roll into a ball and wrap in clingfilm, leaving it to chill in the fridge for twenty minutes.
- Take out the dough and roll it out into a thin sheet. Then using a round cutter, cut out and place them on a lined baking tray.
- Bake for about 20- 30 minutes.
Happy baking!
Yummy! :))
